“Local musicians team up to help one of their own Jan. 14”

That’s the headline on one of the two stories I saw in the news yesterday afternoon.

One story is on the Montgomery Advertiser’s website. The other story is on AL.com.

I mentioned on Dec. 26 about the Christmas day fire at the home of Britt Powell (drummer for BPM.) A lot of outpouring of support has come from the community so far. (See this WAKA story.)

A benefit concert has been planned by Bill Young for next Friday, Jan. 14 at The Blue Iguana in Prattville. Breaking Aim and the Rhythm, Creep List, Surgestone and 2 Daze Gone are playing it. The club is 18+ and that night has an $8 donation for 21+ and $16 for under 21. Door open at 8 p.m.

Both Easy Kiddo and Hail the Titans originally volunteered to play a benefit show to help our friend out, but when the date was finalized for Jan. 14, Hail the Titans was already booked at Head on the Door. However, we (along with our friends in Rowe) wanted to help out as much as we could, so we will have a donation box sex up at our show that night.

Here is the Facebook event listing for the benefit show at The Blue Iguana: Benefit show for Britt Powell and Family. Share that link with friends and invite them to go. It’s for a good cause. If you can’t make it to Prattville that night, come hang with Hail the Titans and Rowe at Head on the Door.
