Don’t bring a small child to the theater… and other tales

Recently, I had the opportunity to catch the play “Cookin’ with Gus” at Prattville’s Way Off Broadway Theater. There are at least three more performances, and I highly encourage you to make it to at least one of them.

The play is very funny, and I would describe the third act as a slapstick version of “My Drunk Kitchen.”

The play is very good; you should go see it… just don’t bring a small child. I don’t think that’s too much to ask. What the actors are saying is much more interesting to me than a 2- or 3-year-old wanting it’s juice box or saying, “I can’t see” over and over and over… Oh, the kid can’t see? Well guess what? The rest of us can’t hear.

Rant over.

A friend of mine in Jacksonville, Fla., Robbie Freeman,  just launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund his new EP. Go check it out, and watch the video – which features his cat. It’s a cat on the internet; that means you have to watch it. Those are the rules.

You can also check out his previous EP, “Falling Too Fast,” here:

And Death to the World had some auditions this past Saturday. While they’re working on the casting, they’re still raising funding for the film. Check out the IndieGoGo campaign here.

The film has been getting some press, too. Check out these stories from the Capital City Free Press, Metal Sucks, Midtown Montgomery Living and AL.com.
