Reasons to try a ghost pepper

If you haven’t heard of a ghost pepper, the Naga Bhut Jolokia, you can find out more here. Bottom line: it’s hot. Under the photo on that Wikipedia page, it says “exceptionally hot.” It’s true. I know this from experience. See the photo on the left? The missing piece of that pepper is the section that contains the seeds, and that section was eaten. By me.

So, why should you try one?

1. Curiosity
2. You like pain
3. You hate yourself
4. You want to know what it would feel like to have your throat on fire
5. You want to test the limits of the power of your stomach lining
6. You want to understand the phrase “It burns twice”
